Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge were announced and became available for preorder at Unpacked 2016 on Feb. 21. The two smartphones went on sale in the United States and the United Kingdom on March 11.
On March 8, Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge were launched in India, and they will as well be available in other regions around the world. Fans who preordered the phones before March 5 must have received the phones early on March 8, in addition to getting a free Gear VR headset.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 goes for $805, while the Galaxy S7 Edge is priced at $905. The two smartphones are available for purchase from Samsung. Before rushing into purchasing the Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge, users should note that Samsung phones are known for rapidly dropping in price in the few months after their release.
Users could see a price cut of up to 21 percent within three months but not everyone is ready to wait, according to Idealo. Carphone Warehouse has already reported preorders beyond expectations. Just 48 hours after the launch, preorders for the new smartphones increased 200 percent at the retailer on the Galaxy S6, and fans can preorder from Carphone Warehouse.
The issue with many people, according to PC Advisor, will be that they purchase the Galaxy S7 and then a year later want the new Galaxy S8, which is expected to release on March 2017 except that it will be tied into a two-year contract. Meanwhile, the South Korean tech giant offers an upgrade program for $35 per month in which case users will receive the latest Galaxy S-series flagship every 12 months.
