While EA DICE has not yet announced the release date for the next installment in the "Battlefield" franchise, there are chances that the game is in development. The game developer recently published a job posting that it is specifically looking for someone with a background in combat gameplay designing.
The posting on the company's official website read, "As Combat Gameplay Designer at DICE you play a crucial role when it comes to the quality of the combat gameplay and delivery of design specifications for combat systems. As Combat Gameplay Designer you will be responsible for guiding the technical designers as well as collaborating with level designers, animators and other disciplines."
Following this latest job posting, many fans are speculating that DICE is set to do some upgrade for the combat system of the much-awaited "Battlefield 5." The upgrade is because the company is looking for a well-experienced person in the combat systems field, according to GamingBolt.
However, the listing was not specific on the project. There are chances that the individual will work on "Battlefield 5." The posting did mention, though, that the ideal individual should have published a minimum of two AAA titles in the action genre or first-person shooter (FPS). Unfortunately, everything is mere rumors, and therefore, fans should take the update with a pinch of salt. It is not certain that the advert is actually about "Battlefield 5."
Meanwhile, the producer over at DICE LA, David Sirland, recently announced that the company is shutting down its support for the Community Test Environment for DICE's current IP - "Battlefield 4." The move could be an indication that the game developer has shifted focus on the development of the next installment in the franchise. However, April will mark the first year anniversary for "Battlefield 4," and DICE will be releasing the last DLC for the game.
According to Electronic Arts' Chief Financial Officer, Blake Jorgensen, "Battlefield 5" may come out sometime later this year. Watch the footage before for more information.
