The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues its expansion with more superheroes being introduced in different media platforms. In addition to developing "Luke Cage," "Iron Fist," "Damage Control" and "Marvel's Most Wanted" for television, fans are speculating that Britain's first superhero may be resurrected.
Recently, Scottish artist Ciara McAvoy hinted on Twitter about a possible "upcoming tv series" with "Captain Britain" at the forefront.
McAvoy is an award-winning poster artist with an impressive portfolio that includes "X-Men: First Class," "Victor Frankenstein," and "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith," Collider reported. McAvoy named Chris Lark as one of the producers who clarified the ordeal.
Apparently, the supposed "Captain Britain" series is a planned highlight reel by producers outside Marvel, Comic Book Resources (CBR) reported. Lark and his co-producers are hoping that the reel will help them bring Brian Braddock (Captain Britain) to the small screens. For now, the project is in the very early stage of development undegoing budget evaluation if Marvel gives green light to the project.
Given the introduction of mystical side on the MCU with "Doctor Strange" at the forefront at the end of the year, fans and onlookers opined that bringing a "Captain Britain" series in TV makes sense.
For the uninitiated, "Captain Britain" is the U.K. version of "Captain America." Launched in 1976, the comic book character has since appeared in various anthologies and team-ups. Also known as Brian Braddock, "Captain Britain" is created by Chris Claremont and Herb Trimpe. Captain Britain obtain his super strength, speed and flight powers from a mystical figure named Merlyn.
