"The Walking Dead" (TWD) Season 6 penultimate ended with a bomb of a cliffhanger leaving fans unsettled. The highly-anticipated finale (episode 16 "Last Day on Earth") is expected to reveal the answer to the big cliffhanger: Is Daryl dead or alive? Meanwhile, in a recent interview, actor Amelio disclosed what exactly happened in the final scene of  episode 15 and revealed Daryl Dixon's fate.

Episode 15 titled "East" saw Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) come face to face with a villain Dwight (Austin Amelio). Their encounter had a shocking end with Dwight shooting Daryl and the screen going blank after blood splattered on the camera.

In an interview with Tech Insider, "The Walking Dead" (TWD) actor Amelio assured that fan-favourite character Daryl Dixon is going to okay. According to the website, a closer look at the final scene of the Season 6 episode 15 will show that Dwight's gun isn't pointed at Daryl's head instead his right shoulder.

"He doesn't have an intention on killing him," Amelio told the abovementioned publication. "He's [Dwight] been through a rough patch and I think he wants to show that he means business and he knows that by shooting him he gets his point across. I could have gone for the head. I didn't. I went for the right shoulder," Amelio explained.

"He's not going to die. He'll be okay," he assured.

In addition, the actor confirmed that Dwight's final words "You'll be okay" were for Daryl.

Furthermore, Amelio revealed what to expect from "The Walking Dead" (TWD) Season 6 finale. In episode 16, Daryl tells Dwight that he regrets not killing him the day he met him.

"So obviously, he has some regrets about letting me live, but I don't think so. We came off as ... he saw that we were in trouble [in season six, episode six], and what we were doing to stay alive," Amelio said.

According to AMC's spoilers for "The Walking Dead" (TWD) Season 6 episode 16, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his group members will rescue one of their own. The events of the finale will transform the survivors' life forever.

Earlier, Rick Grimes told The Wrap that the "The Walking Dead" Season 6 finale is "bigger, episode and insane." According to him "Last Day on Earth," is the "darkest and most extraordinary season finale."
