Middling club Liverpool FC (12-9-8, 44 points) and second-running squad Tottenham Hotspur FC (17-4-10, 61 points) will face one another on April 2nd, Saturday at the Anfield for a 2015-2016 Premier League season contest.

Although Liverpool is comfortably 18 points away from relegation to the Football League Championship next season, manager Jürgen Klopp is said to be still keen on observing his existing players late in the season as the Reds are expected to become busy with roster development in the coming summer transfer window.

Liverpool suffered a highly disappointing setback in their last domestic match, a 2-3 loss to Southampton at the St. Mary's Stadium on March 20th, via BBC Sport.

The Reds led for most of the match until the Saints pulled off a stinging comeback bid late in the second half to turn back Klopp and his boys.

Brazilian winger Philippe Coutinho scored the opening goal of the match right at the 17th minute which was quickly doubled five minutes later by a brilliant goal from English striker Daniel Sturridge off a cross from Belgian forward Divock Origi.

Saints winger Sadio Mane scored at the 64th minute to cut the lead to a point.

Liverpool seemed headed to a victory with seven minutes left in the match before forward Graziano Pellè scored a goal and Mane added another one four minutes before full time to complete the comeback.

Meanwhile, Tottenham won its second straight game with a 3-0 demolition of Bournemouth at the White Hart Lane also on March 20th, as reported by SkySports.

English striker Harry Kane scored a brace at the first and 16th minutes before midfielder Christian Eriksen sealed the match with a tapping rebound goal off another Kane strike at the 52nd, completing the Spurs' three-goal haul.

Kane temporarily overtook Leicester City's Jamie Vardy as the Premier League's top scorer with his two goals. He now has 21 for the season while Vardy has 19.

With the win, Mauricio Pochettino's team stayed five points behind the league leading Foxes, who could win their first ever English top flight trophy with only seven games left in their campaign this season.

The predicted result is a close 2-1 victory for Tottenham Hotspur.

Liverpool starting lineup (4-4-2 formation): Mignolet; Flanagan, Lovren, Sakho, Clyne; Lallana, Can, Allen, Coutinho; Origi, Sturridge

Tottenham Hotspur starting lineup (4-2-3-1 formation): Lloris; Walker, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Rose; Dembélé, Dier; Lamela, Eriksen, Alli; Kane
