Contending squad Arsenal FC (16-7-7, 55 points) will try to hold firm of its third place standing in the English top flight as the 2015-2016 Premier League season slowly draws to a close as it clashes with newly-promoted club Watford FC (10-13-7, 37 points) at the Emirates Stadium on April 2nd, Saturday.

Arsenal was able to finally bounce back from a three-game winless slide during their last domestic match, a 2-0 blanking of Everton on the road at the Goodison Park on March 19th to stay four points above fifth-placed team Manchester City in the overall standings, as reported by SkySports.

Strikers Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi provided the two goals in the first half for Arsene Wenger's side, at the seventh and 42nd minutes respectively, to help the team get back on the winning track after three straight poor performances.

The Gunners are now six points behind second-running Tottenham Hotspurs and a far 11 points adrift of surprise league leaders Leicester City, who may perhaps win their first-ever Premier League title this season.

Wenger and his boys are holding on to the third spot of the table, which is the final Champions League group stage qualifying berth for next season.

Meanwhile, Watford is suddenly on a downward spiral as of the moment after being respectably successful for a newly-promoted side earlier in the season.

The Hornets are currently on a three-game losing skid and had been winless in five of their last six outings, which made fellow promoted club AFC Bournemouth overtake them for 13th place in the overall standings.

Their last match was a tough 1-2 loss to Stoke City right at their home field of Vicarage Road also on March 19th, as per BBC Sport.

The Potters scored the first two goals of the contest, via Jonathan Walters and Joselu at the 18th and 51st minutes, before striker Troy Deeney was able to score a consolation goal at the 86th as the hosts avoided a shutout.

Watford is 11 points above bottom three relegation, though, and head coach Quique Sánchez Flores' squad will definitely try to stay away from going back to the Football League Championship next season.

The predicted result is a 3-1 victory for Arsenal.
