"Stay With Me" singer Sam Smith has received six nominations at the 2015 Grammy Awards including Album of the Year for "In The Lonely Hour." The British crooner, however, will have to fight it out against Beyonce, who in the same category is also nominated. Smith said that he would not mind if the golden gramophone award is given to the Queen Bey.
Smith, a 22-year-old British singer and self-acclaimed Beyonce fan, said that if he wins the coveted trophy for the Album of the Year award, he will definitely give back the honor to the "Drunk in Love" singer, the Rolling Stone reported.
"She definitely deserves it more than I do," Smith said who tied with Beyonce for six Grammy nominations. "I would be very embarrassed if I'm awarded over her. If that happens, I'll give it to her."
This can be one of the most awkward things to happen during the Grammys since Beyonce has already got 17 awards from the award-giving body.
Smith has already prepared for his first-ever performance at the awards night. He even admitted to Rolling Stone that he is on a special diet with cayenne-pepper juice to help him shed some weight before the extravagant night comes.
"I am just trying to lose weight," Smith revealed. "Sometimes, I feel proud that I don't look like a typical pop star, but there're moments when I'd wish I have Bieber's abs."
The 2015 Grammy Awards will be aired through CBS, live from Los Angeles 8PM, ET, on Feb.8.
