At the start of the airing of “Descendants of the Sun” over video platform iQiyi in China, the Ministry of Justice warned Chinese women not to fall in love with actor Song Joong-ki.
It seems the warning should have also been extended to South Korean women because even co-star Song Hye Kyo admitted that she is enamored by the actor who plays Army captain Yoo Si Jin. She said her heart beats faster when watching on TV her character, Kang Mo Yeon, being wooed by Yoo, reported The Straits Times.
She particularly cited the scene between the two of them when Yoo asked Kang, “Should I confess my love or apologise?” after he attempted to kiss her.
The actress shared that they ended filming in December, but the actors did not have an opportunity to view the rushes during the shooting. “I watched the drama while thinking of myself as Kang Mo Yeon My heart fluttered when I heard that line,” she said.
When Song Hye Kyo was offered the rule, she was immediately hooked when she read the script which the actress described as a page-turner because a relationship between a surgeon and a soldier intrigued the actress.
“When I read the script for the first time, I found I could read it as fast as if it were a comic book. That’s when I realised it would be a fun drama that many people would fall in love with,” shared Song Hye Kyo.
But despite her admission that Song Joong-ki makes her heart palpitate, and amid dating rumors, the actress told Fashion & Style they are only good friends since they come from the same agency.
