There is a possibility that the upcoming latest season of "Shameless" will have its small screen appearance on January 2017. The comedy drama television series of Showtime is one of the network's precious assets, because the show has been providing decent numbers in terms of TV ratings in the cable-show category.
Although there is no confirmation yet relating to the release date of "Shameless" season 7, as well as there have been little information relating to the upcoming season's plot, but because most fans would like to know more about it, TVLine placed the show's executive producer, Nancy Pimental, on the hot seat.
Upon an interview with TVLine, Pimental said that there is no confirmation yet with regards to the possible exit of Dermot Mulroney, who plays Sean Pierce, an ex-bad boy and an addict who is trying to leave the life of a junkie. The actor joined the show during the fifth season in replacement for Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who eventually joined AMC's "The Walking Dead."
Pimentel added that Sean and Fiona's relationship is over. It was during the wedding day of Fiona and Sean when things got out of hand, thanks to Fiona's father, Frank (Vernon Francis), who revealed Sean's dirty secrets about his drug addiction problem. Sean did not deny Frank's revelation, and yet he opted to say that he was on drugs before the wedding started.
As for Fiona, the executive producer said that she will eventually find herself next season, but first, she would have a lot of questions regarding her relationship status. She is not getting young, that is why she would most likely identify what her path really is, and that could be a path were she no longer need a man by her side.
Nevertheless, there may be a slight chance that Fiona and Sean would be in each other's arms again, or that finale may be the last time fans would see Fiona with a man. Fans should just wait for the next season of "Shameless" to find that out, which is rumored to air its pilot episode early 2017.
