While many fans rejoice at the upcoming "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" film, a lot are seemingly pondering about the real connection of the spin-off film to the "Harry Potter" series. Now, the latest trailer has shed some light on the matter.
On April 11, Monday, actor Eddie Redmayne took the center stage of 2016 MTV Movie Awards and debut the latest heart-pounding "Fantastic Beasts" trailer, E! News has learned.
The new trailer not only gave fans a closer look at the film's world and mystical creatures, it also disclosed a surprising connection between the film's titular character, Magizoologist Newt Scamander (played by Redmayne) and Professor Albus Dumbledore.
It has been learned that the famed Magizoologist was expelled from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for endangering a human life by letting lose some magical beasts. However, his transfiguration instructor strongly argued against Scamander's expulsion and that instructor was the future Hogwarts headmaster, Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore.
In 1908, Newton Artemis Fido "Newt" Scamander decided to attend Hogwarts due of his strong interest in magical creatures, as he was influenced by his mother's breeding of Hippogriffs at an early age. During his stay, he was sorted into Hufflepuff and dealt with magical creatures as an elective in his third year.
Now, the award-winning novelist J.K. Rowling took to Twitter to further discuss the relationship between Scamander and Dumbledore.
Rowling went on to clarify that Dumbledore's advocacy was insufficient to stop Newt's expulsion at the time, as the former was only a young educator and had no power to revoke it. Hence, solid fans worldwide were wondering whether they can expect an appearance from the former headmaster of the famed wizard school in the upcoming "Fantastic Beasts."
However, producer David Heyman previously said that the prequel film will not feature any familiar faces. He added that there is a chance that the wizards from "Harry Potter" series may appear down the line.
The upcoming fantasy film follows the adventures of writer Scamander in New York's secret community of witches and wizards, 70 years before Harry Potter reads his book in Hogwarts. Although the film was all about Scamander's adventure, it has been reported that the movie is actually about four heroes working together, not one.
The said heroes are Newt, Tina (Katherine Waterston, Queenie (Alison Sudol) and Jacob (Dan Fogler), Entertainment Weekly reported. "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is set to arrive in theaters worldwide on November 18 in 3D and IMAX 4K Laser format.
