Network carriers such as Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T, US Cellular, and Verizon are expected to release Android Marshmallow for Sony Xperia Z5, Z4, Z3, Z2, M5, M4 Aqua C5 Ultra, C4 soon.
The Android Marshmallow update has been released for numerous Sony Xperia Z series devices, such as Xperia Z5 Premium, Z5 Compact and Z5, according to Android Authority. The international variants of Sony Xperia Z5 have also received the update, which started to rollout on March 7. Other Sony Xperia devices such as Xperia Z3 Plus and Z4 tablet have also received the update in various countries.
Meanwhile, network carriers such as Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and US Cellular are going to release the update for Sony Xperia Z4, Z3, Z2, M5, and C4 soon. The Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update may come by April-end.
Android Marshmallow is also rolling out for Sony Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and Z2. The model number of Xperia Z2, which is getting the update is D6503, whereas for Z3 Compact, it is D5803. Sony Xperia Z3 with model number D6603 is also getting the update.
The Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update for these devices is rolling out to numerous countries such as Ukraine, Russia, United States, Middle East, Latin America and North Africa. Rollout to other countries is also in the pipeline and is expected to start by the end of the month.
On the other hand, Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3+ are receiving the Android Marshmallow Beta version. It is expected that the full version will be rolled out to them soon.
The Android Marshmallow update was rolled out to Sony Xperia Z5 at the beginning of April. However, the update was short-lived, as Xperia Z5 devices were plagued with numerous bugs. Sony immediately released a security patch to solve the issue and now the device is running fine.
Android Marshmallow update comes with numerous new features, such as cutomizable app permissions and a new "Settings" user interface. It also enhances the battery life of the device, due to efficient power consumption, according to BGR.
