Google's new Live Case service transforms a user's desired map or photo into a phone case that they can slap on the back of a Nexus 6, 6P, or 5X.

Google is taking the appearance of its Nexus devices to the next level by introducing a new Live Case Creator tool that will let a user turn a point on a photo or a map into a phone case, which can get slapped on the back of a Nexus 5X, 6, and 6P.

According to Tech Crunch, one is required to visit the creator's website, upload the photo or the map they desire, and then position it on the case in whichever way they want. There are also options of filtering, which transmogrify or add color to the photo to make an isolate art piece. Then, one can confirm and buy it after which, google will print and ship the particular customized case to the user.

Even groovier, the Live Case can skin the wallpaper of one's Nexus to match and give the device a unique look. If one goes with the map for example, they can turn their wallpaper into a similar moving map of where they are currently located.

If a picture gets chosen, users can make an album of their shots for their Nexus to style and modify automatically. Additionally, there is a button at the back of each case that will enable the user to launch their Nexus' camera (if it is a photo case) or find them a nearby place in the map (if it is a location case).

According to Phone Dog, it is not the first time that Google has presented the offer of special cases for Nexus phones. In 2015, it came up with a google Editions case specifically for the Nexus 6 in a collaboration with Skrillex.

Live cases will bring a different feel with Nexus phones because they will be more of personal property, allowing the owner to customize the case with photos of their favorite pets, people or even a map of their favorite location. What is more, along with one's signature case, it will be exciting to get a live wallpaper to bring the design to life.

$35 might appear a little steep for the price of a Nexus snap-on case, but considering that a user will be getting a unique design that they created to add to their Google Nexus phone, it will be worth it.
