Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update rolling out to Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z2.

Giant mobile companies like Samsung are now updating their latest gadgets with the newest Android operating system. Like Samsung, one of the biggest names in the industry, Sony, is also quite busy updating its smartphones and tablets with the latest Android Marshmallow.

According to Android Authority, the gadgets that Sony lined up for the update are the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z3 Plus, Z4 tablet, Z3 and Z3 compact, and Z2 as well.

On one hand, according to Alphr, it has been reported that Marshmallow provides new features and functionalities to mobile phones and tablets. One of the functions that the update contains is the "Now On Tap" feature, which allows the user to acquire details using one tap, rejecting the need for another application to do so. In this way, users can obtain information easier and faster.

Another issue that this update will fix is the power draining issue of a device. It is because Android Marshmallow contains other functions such as "Doze" and "App Standby." The function of "Doze" is to automatically place the device into sleep mode in order to prolong the device's battery life, while "App Standby" limits unused background apps from eating the remaining power of the device.

In addition, what users will find very useful are the security and privacy features of the Android Marshmallow update. This update on Android M allows users to be in total control in regards to what the device should and should not share on the web. Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 will also strengthen the device's security by integrating a fingerprint scan feature to the mobile device. This will certainly secure the user's gadget, thus making it less vulnerable to be accessed by unwanted guests and or opportunistic thieves.

With all that said, there is no question why mobile companies that are using the Android platform are updating their suitable gadgets with Android Marshmallow. This will not only improve the functionality of the updated devices, as the Android 6.0.1 update would also strengthen a smartphone or a tablet's security.
