Gal Gadot plays Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and in the solo film "Wonder Woman."

Set photos from the ongoing production of "Wonder Woman" in Matera, Italy, have managed to circulate online. The images showed Wonder Woman in a fight scene.

Most of the photos showed Gal Gadot's stunt double engaged in an intense sword fight with another character. Dressed in Wonder Woman's costume, the actress' doppelganger seemed to be winning against her opponent.

A green and white backdrop is also evident in the photos. According to Comicbook Movie, the pictures showed Wonder Woman in combat training at her home in Themyscira.

It is unclear who Wonder Woman is fighting in the photos. According to Entertainment Weekly, there are three other important women characters in the movie. These women helped Diana become a warrior. There is Diana's mother, Queen Hippolyta, and her two aunts, General Antiope and her lieutenant, Menalippe.

"Wonder Woman" director Patty Jenkins said Queen Hippolyta and General Antiope both raised Diana Prince together. However, they each have their own ways of showing their love for the princess. For General Antiope, training Diana to become a warrior princess was her way of showing her affection to her niece. But Queen Hippolyta wanted as much as possible for her daughter to be away from the outside world.

One of the images taken on location in Matera, Italy also showed the other Amazonian warriors in the movie. These women are also dressed in similar costumes as Gadot's stunt double. Despite their combat attires, they still manage to look womanly. Looking badass and attractive at the same time is what Jenkins wanted in the first place for these Amazons to look like.

Jenkins did not want them dressed in combat armors like men. Instead, she wanted them to appear appealing and authentic. So Jenkins and "Wonder Woman" costume designer, Lindy Hemming, ended up with practical outfits that showed off the women's toned arms and legs.

Jenkins said Wonder Woman is like Superman, who is a badass fighter yet can still look "hot as hell" and look great at the same time. "That makes them feel like the hero they want to be," Jenkins said in a previous interview about "Wonder Woman."
