Verizon’s Android Pay promo as easy as a single tap

A Samsung Galaxy S7 is seen during its worldwide unveiling on February 21, 2016 in Barcelona, Spain.

Verizon's latest offering gives its users additional 2GB extra data to the monthly plan for as long as subscribers try out the Android Pay. The promotion is something that users will undoubtedly be attracted to given that the wireless carrier is one of the more expensive providers in the US.

The promo, which started last Thursday, is good for two billing cycles, according to a blog post published on the company's official website. It also said that getting the extra data is as easy as tapping the app.

The post shared that users only have to open the app to jumpstart the process. To receive the 1GB of free data, subscribers can tap anywhere the stores that accept Android Pay. The other free 1GB will be given on the third tap.

This means that beginning April 14 up to June 13, users only have to take advantage of the service once, and they can immediately have 1GB for free. By the time they use the Android Pay three times within the given period, another free 1GB will be credited to the Verizon subscribers' account, BGR explained.

Android Pay, Google's contactless payment, is the same as iPhone's Apple Pay. Users only have to provide the information of either their credit card or debit card. After doing so, purchases can be made using the smartphone for as long as the app is accepted.

The promo is available to all postpaid subscribers both on a More Everything Plan and on a Verizon Plan. Getting the extra data is fairly easy. Users only have to open Android Pay on their Verizon serviced phones and they can get a detailed guide regarding the procedure.

This promotion came out around the same time that Verizon stopped their $650 payout on early termination fees (ETF) if users end their contract with other carriers and switch to their company. The promo also happened just as the wireless carrier terminated their buy-one-get-one (BOGO) offer on the all-new Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, AndroidHeadlines reported.
