After Song Joong-ki’s BFF, fellow actor Lee Kwang Soo made a brief appearance in the 16-episode blockbuster “Descendants of the Sun,” it is Song’s turn to return the favor.
However, before he returns as guest in “Running Man,” the actor who player Army Captain Yoo Si Jin would tape today, April 20, at 7 p.m., in a duty-free shop somewhere in Seoul for "Hurry Up Brother," the Chinese version of “Running Man.”
The cast of “Hurry Up Brother” arrived on Sunday. They would meet the cast of “Running Man” for the South Korean episode, but it remains unclear of Song would guest in the South Korean version. Fans want to know if Song would return to “Running Man.”
His agreeing to make a guest appearance in “Hurry Up Brother” is Song’s way of showing his appreciation to billions of viewers of “Descendants of the Sun” over video platform iQiyi. The fans, mostly female, not only watched every of the 16 episodes aired simultaneously over KBS 2TV in South Korea every Wednesday and Thursday, but also defied the China Ministry of Justice’s warning against being too enamored with Song.
Blossom Entertainment, the agency of Song, also explained that they accepted the guesting stint in “Hurry Up Brother” because of the actor’s close friendship with PD Im Hyung Taek. PD was also part of the “Running Man” family and now supervises “Hurry Up Brother.”
