Season 5 of the popular CBS TV series, "Person of Interest," has been officially announced to air its premiere episode on May 3, but the executive producers did not confirm whether there is going to be a sixth season for the popular science fiction drama series.
It has been reported a month ago that executive producers of the show, Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman, already said that "Person of Interest" season 5 will be the last season of the show, IGN reported.
However, it seems that fans of "Person of Interest" are preventing the series to end in season 5. In fact, fans did launch a petition in Change.org persuading Netflix to acquire the series once it ends in CBS, Cross Map has learned.
On the other hand, the premiere episode of "Person of Interest" season 5 has been reported to be titled "B.S.O.D," which stands for "Blue Screen of Death," a computer system failure where the display of the computer turns to blue with white text, indicating that the system has crashed.
It can be remembered back in "Person of Interest" season 4's finale episode that Root (Amy Acker) and Finch were trying to save The Machine, but was interrupted by the power surge. This is why season 5's first episode is said to cover the team-up of Reese (played by Jim Caviezel) and Finch (played by Michael Emerson) trying to save The Machine while there is still time. While Root will face life or death in her fight with the Samaritan agents, Fucso (played Kevin Chapman), on the other hand, is going to be interrogated with his alleged involvement in the death of Dominic and Elias, TVLine reported.
Despite the probability that this could be the final season of the popular CBS television series, its executive producers were definitely grateful that the fans were able to support the series all throughout its seasons. Emerson, who plays the role of Finch in the series, said that "Person of Interest" season 5's finale will leave a space for new storylines, in case the show will be renewed for season 6.
Nevertheless, fans of the show should be grateful that their favorite TV series will finally air in few weeks, even if this is the show's last season.
