It’s the 21st century and public discussion--even demonstration--of sex has attained a certain level of normalcy in many countries, but in others, an event dubbed “Orgasmo” could have instantly titillated the public mind, raised some brows of the ultra-conservative members of society and outraged local censors.
Goooood Secrets organizes “Orgasmo 2016” from April 2 to May 14 to tackle the wildest side of human nature: bondage, orgasms and sexual pleasure, according to Festival Sherpa.
Count the number of o’s the event organizer has on its name and perhaps it was more than the number of times “Oh!” was said during its celebration of an audacious, one-of-a-kind event.
Goooood Secrets said on its Facebook account that the festival “wants to revive erotic movies.” The organizer reminisces the ‘80s during the “glory days of porn theaters” in Hong Kong.
But the festival’s not all about sex.
Those nursing a broken heart can check "Breakup Cinema," according to the Global Times. For the nostalgic adults, there’s "Time Travel," the screening of some ‘70s and ‘80s films to momentarily revive the good ol’ times.
According to the organizer’s Facebook account, it will screen an “erotic movie” and present “a special choreographed dance performance” on May 14, 7:30 p.m., at Southorn Stadium in Wan Chai.
“Involving a few ropes,” French choreographer Alice Rensy will deliver the performance, said HK Magazine. The dance piece will serve as a “warm up” before the organizers offer the main course for the night: “a surprise steamy classic.”
Ticket sells for HK$200 and 50 percent of the gross profit will go to Hong Kong AIDS Foundation.
Only 18 years old and above will be admitted, and participants may be required to present an I.D. for verification.
For the hard-headed minors, don’t show up in the venue dressed up looking like an uncle or aunt and presenting a tampered I.D. There’s a place and time for everything, kiddos.
