Persona 5 is an upcoming JRPG being developed by Atlus of the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 console

New "Persona 5" details will feature a possible release date announcement for the PlayStation 4 and reports on the game's official website being hacked.

Japanese video game developer Atlus tease something special for gaming fans as they put a countdown clock for "Persona 5" in its official website with the countdown ending on "0505" hinting a major announcement next month, PlayStationLifeStyle reported. It is theorized that the countdown clock could be a potential release date announcement for "Persona 5" as the sequel is expected to launch on the summer in Japan for the PS4 and PS3 consoles.

Previous reports indicated that several "Persona 5" merchandises are being displayed in a Japanese retail store Animate in the Machida hinting gaming fans that the release date for the game draws near and Atlus will make good on their promise.

In other news, it appears that "Persona 5" website has been hacked and placed a fake release date for the game on July 18 along with a PC version of it. Atlus PR manager John Hardin was quick to act and tweeted that July release date and PC version announcements are fake and will discuss with Atus on working on better website security measures.

This comes as a surprise for gamers considering that Atlus dismiss a possible PC version for "Persona 5" last year, not to mention that the hacker omitted the PS3 vesion, GearNuke reported.

So far, "Persona 5's" release date has been a big mystery to the gaming fans, but with the countdown in motion. it seems that gaming fans will just have to wait for May 5 for Atlus to reveal something new about the game and an official release date announcement for the PlayStation consoles.

"Persona 5" will feature four high schools students, the protagonist, Ryuji Sakamoto, Ann Takamaki and Yusuke Kitagawa, along with a talking cat named Morgana. These individuals are given "Persona" powers and used them as Phantom thieves at night and are fighting for justice in corrupted world.

The sequel will feature new gameplay features, weapons, abilities, dungeons and an improved "Social Link" system as game director Katsura Hashino stated that it could make a huge step into the game in terms of human relations being better than that of previous titles.

"Persona 5" will launch on the summer in Japan and sometime in the United States for the PS4 and PS3 consoles.
