Surging team Valencia CF (11-13-11, 44 points) will look to extend their four-game unbeaten run as they clash with fourth-running squad Villarreal CF (17-8-10, 61 points) at the Mestalla Stadium this Sunday, May 1st for a 2015-2016 La Liga season encounter.

Valencia had climbed to the eighth spot of the current league table from almost the bottom three relegation area after winning in three straight matchdays. They managed to hold on to a draw in their previous game to continue their haul of points as they approach their last three fixtures this season.

Los Che settled to a 2-2 tie with bottom three squad Getafe CF on the road at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez last Sunday, as reported by Vavel.

The first half of the game ended with both teams unable to slot in any goals and so the opening point came from Els Taronges midfielder Daniel Parejo three minutes into the second half.

Getafe equalized it at the 59th courtesy of a right-footed shot from the center of the box by midfielder Alvaro Medran. El Geta then took the lead nine minutes later with a strike from Serbian forward Stefan Scepovic at the 68th off an assist by teammate Moi Gomez after a fast break.

However, the Valencianistes tied the game once again after team captain Paco Alcacer's goal at the 84th from a cross by vice-captain Alvaro Negredo to salvage the draw and share a point in the overall standings.

Meanwhile, Villarreal is on a downward spiral as of the moment after being winless in four of their last six matches, including a three-game winless slide.

Their last match was a goalless draw with middling club Real Sociedad at their home ground of Estadio El Madrigal also last Sunday, as per SB Nation.

El Submarino Amarillo is currently at the fourth spot of the league table and holding the fourth and last Champions League berth for next season. They are four points ahead of fifth-running team Celta Vigo with three games left in their season.

The predicted result is a 2-1 decision for Valencia. Both momentum and home field advantage are in favor of manager Pako Ayestarán in this match against the Yellow Submarine.

Valencia starting lineup (4-1-4-1 formation): Alves; Barragan, Mustafi, Abdennour, Siqueira; Perez; Rodrigo, Parejo, Fuego, Gomes; Alcacer

Villarreal starting lineup (4-4-2 formation): Asenjo; Mario, Bailly, Ruiz, Rukavina; Castillejo, Bruno, Pina, Suarez; Soldado, Bakambu
