Dethroned champions Chelsea FC (12-11-11, 47 points) is set to clash with second-running squad Tottenham Hotspur FC (19-4-12, 69 points) in a crucial 2015-2016 Premier League match on Monday, May 2nd at the Stamford Bridge which has implications in the title race this season.

Chelsea had salvaged a lost season as they are now at the ninth spot of the league table, safely 16 points away from the bottom three relegation area and the possibility of getting demoted to the Football League Championship next season after being only 12 months departed from the Premier League title.

Their torrid run in the second half of the season under interim coach Guus Hiddink made it all possible and they would want to close their disappointing season on a winning note before welcoming new head coach Antonio Conte in the summer.

Chelsea crushed Bournemouth, 4-1, at the Vitality Stadium last Saturday to snap a rare two-game losing slide near the end of the season, as reported by ESPN.

Spanish forward Pedro netted the opening goal of the contest at the fifth minute then midfielder Eden Hazard scored the first of his two goals at the 34th to give the visitors an early two-point lead.

Bournemouth captain Tommy Elphick scored a consolation goal for the Cherries at the 36th before the Blues sealed the win with strikes from Brazilian winger Willian at the 71st and Hazard's second goal in stoppage time, completing the teams' four-goal haul.

Meanwhile, Tottenham could be falling short in their attempt to win the Premier League crown this season as they settled for a 1-1 draw with West Brom on Monday at their own home stadium of White Hart Lane, as per SkySports.

West Brom defender Craig Dawson scored the two goals for both squads with an own goal at the 33rd and a strike at the 73rd.

The draw widened the gap between them and current league leaders Leicester City to seven points with three matchdays left. The Foxes can halt Tottenham's bid for this year's title by winning one more game.

The predicted result is a 2-1 decision for Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea starting lineup (4-2-3-1 formation): Begovic; Azpilicueta, Mikel, Ivanovic, Rahman; Matic, Fabregas; Pedro, Willian, Hazard; Costa

Tottenham Hotspur starting lineup (4-2-3-1 formation): Lloris; Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose; Dier, Dembélé; Lamela, Alli, Eriksen; Kane
