“Teen Wolf” season 6 star Dylan O’Brien is still in recovery following his unfortunate accident on the set of his latest film, “The Maze Runner: The Death Cure.” A new report claimed that the MTV producers are currently in talk with One Direction’s Harry Styles to take O’Brien’s place for the mean time.

According to Unreality TV, there are speculations circulating online that Styles will be part of either "Scream Queens" season 2 or "Teen Wolf" season 6. While the "History" singer has yet to comment on these rumors, the outlet pointed out that O'Brien himself has been "shortlisted" to play Styles in the upcoming big screen adaptation of One Direction's fan fiction, "After." Turns out, 1D fans thought that he had quite a resemblance with the actor.

When asked about what he felt about playing Styles on the big screen, the "Teen Wolf" season 6 star admitted that he may not be the perfect fit for the role.

"[I have] a horrible English accent, probably similar-yet-worse looks, and I couldn't sing, and I'm probably less cool, too," he joked.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, O'Brien's publicist Jennifer Allen revealed that filming for "Maze Runner: The Death Cure" has been put on hold to give O'Brien enough time to heal. She explained that his injuries from the vehicular stunt were "very serious" and he needed as much as time as he can to recover.

This statement is probably one of the reasons why rumors of Styles "replacing" O'Brien in "Teen Wolf" season 6 came about. There is, however, no sufficient information to this claim and MTV has remained mum about the entire issue.

Apart from possibly starring on "Teen Wolf" season 6, Styles has also been rumored to have landed a role in "Scream Queens" season 2. Nick Jonas, himself, hinted that fans of the One Direction star will get to see him act on the small screen soon enough, even if it's not on "Scream Queens."

"I'm not sure [if he's joining] but I've heard from a few people in LA who've seen him - agents and casting directors - that he's a good actor, which is interesting," he said.

Tune in for more "Teen Wolf" season 6 spoilers and cast updates.
