Week 6 featured "Famous Dances Night" wherein the couples performed one famous dance from films, musicals or other videos. In a surprising twist, Wanya Morris and Lindsay Arnold emerged as a frontrunner with highest scores (29/30) for their performance. Meanwhile, Doug Flutie and Karina Smirnoff earned lowest scores (21/30) and were later eliminated.
In "Dancing With the Stars" (DWTS) Season 22 Week 7, Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd, Kim Fields and Sasha Farber, Von Miller and Witney Carson, Wanya Morris and Lindsay Arnold, Jodie Sweetin and Keoikantse Motsepe, Paige VanZant and Mark Ballas, Antonio Brown and Sharna Burgess and Ginger Zee and Valentin Chmerkovskiy will return to the ball room stage for their next performance paying tribute to musical icons.
ABC has released a press release revealing the details of the upcoming segment on its official website. According to the synopsis for "Dancing With the Stars" (DWTS) Season 22 Week 7, the couples will perform a dance routine music from favourite musical icons.
Fans can expect to see a special dance by the Pro Dancers as an opening number to the new episode. This will be available to watch through a Virtual Reality 360° view online on DWTS Facebook Page and YouTube channel.
The top 8 will perform variety of dance routines. According to the press release and PURE DWTS, Antonio Brown and Sharna Burgess will perform Tango on "Paint it Black" by the Rolling Stones. Last week's top scorer Wanya Morris and Lindsay Arnold will perform Foxtrot on "I Say a Little Prayer" by Aretha Franklin.
Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd will perform foxtrot too. They will be paying tribute to U2 with a performance on their hit number "Beautiful Day." Ginger Zee and Val Chmerkovskiy will present a Viennese Waltz routine on the "I Have Nothing" by Whitney Houston. Paige Val Zant and Mark Ballas will do Jive on "Proud Mary" by Tina Turner.
After recovering from an ankle injury, Jodie Sweetin and Keo Motsepe will return to the stage with Quickstep routine performing the Stevie Wonder's song "For Once in My Life."
Kim Fields and Sasha will present a samba routine to the tune of "ABC" by Jackson 5. As for Von Miller and Witney Carson, they will do Salsa to the tune of "A Little Less Conversation" by Elvis Presley.
Following the individual couples dances, "Dancing With the Stars" (DWTS) Season 22 Week 7 will feature team dances. The teams will be divided into male and female celebrities, who will be joined by their respective choreographers. The men's team is called Team James Brown and the women's team is called Team Beyonce. The celebrities will perform a range of dances including Tango, Samba, Jive, Salsa or others.
Towards the end, the show will feature eliminations. However, for the first time ever in "Dancing With the Stars" (DWTS) Season 22 (2016), the show will conduct double eliminations and bid goodbye to two couples.
