Possible new look of Bumblebee in "Transformers 5," according to fan made video.

"Transformers 5" is looking at enlisting Nickelodeon star Isabela Moner as its female lead, starring opposite Mark Wahlberg's Cade Yeager.

Moner is credited for both TV and movie roles, including Nickelodeon's "100 things To Do Before High School" and CBS' "Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life." Finally, she is also set to star in the movie adaptation of the hit Nickelodeon reality show "Legends of the Hidden Temple."

An insider familiar with the "Transformers 5" project told The Wrap that Moner is being considered to paly Izabella. The character is described as a "street-smart tomboy" who was raised in foster care as an orphan. It was said that her only friend is a small Transformer. She seems to have been living a lonely life, until her Transformer connects her with Yeager and the rest of the Autobots.

On the other hand, unlike previous female characters played by Megan Fox, Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Nicole Peltz that were sidelined and overshadowed by male characters, Moner's Izabella may be the franchise's first ever actual female lead. Her introduction is expected to rectify how the previous movies have been criticized for sexism.

Taking a 14-year-old to play a major role in "Transformers 5" could be a sign that the franchise is moving in a new direction and towards a new chapter.

Paramount Pictures, however, has not confirmed the news about Moner's casting.

Furthermore, Michael Bay will return to film the robot-themed sequel, with Steven Spielberg as executive producer, while Oscar-awardee Akiva Goldsman will pen the story.

The cast and crew will begin filming in Detroit. There is no confirmation, however, whether Jack Reynor and Nicola Peltz will reprise their roles as Shane Dyson and Tessa Yeager, respectively.

"Transformers 5" will follow Optimus Prime as he sets out to learn more about the Quintessons, an ancient race that tie with the history of the Transformers, according to News Everyday.

Meanwhile, "Transformers" has been green-lit for three more movies, the first to be released in 2017. A Bumblebee spin-off movie is set to premiere in 2018, and will be followed by "Transformers 6" in 2019.

"Transformers 5" will hit theatres on June 23, 2017.
