'Red Dead Redemption 2' not coming to E3 2016: Reports

Red Dead Redemption is an open world, western action-adventure video game developed by Rockstar San Diego and published by Rockstar Games.

Disappointment awaits all "Red Dead Redemption 2" fans, as it has been reported that the much-awaited game will not be making an appearance at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in spite of the onslaught of rumors claiming that the game is coming soon.

The hype about the much-awaited game continues to grow after Take-Two Interactive's CEO Strauss Zelnick previously announced that the game title is going to be released soon. CEO Zelnick also clarified that the long wait is due to their selective approach of releasing games rather instead of flooding the market with new games.

"I pretty much know the ones that I can assure you are permanent. It seems quite obvious that 'Red Dead' is a permanent franchise," GameSpot quoted CEO Zelnick as speaking during the Cowen and Company analyst conference in 2014. However, until now there is still no news on the game.

The deferral has been ascribed to the game's unconfirmed title of "Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West." Earlier reports claiming that it will be a prequel game were dismissed.

Most recent news suggested that fans across the globe should not get their hopes up for the much-awaited game title, as Take-Two Interactive does not have any big surprises at E3. Further, the company giant reportedly prefers to present their games on their own terms.

Nonetheless, some fans cannot help but wish that the long hold up will be justified. Rumor has it that the game will feature more than one playable character and will reportedly gloat a sprawling, far larger open world to get lost in, as opposed to its predecessor.

In addition, the new game will reportedly have a new gang system, wherein players can choose to join several different gangs or join the law enforcement of a specific town. There will also be a new and more difficult stranger missions and around 30 new campaigns for Seth Briars and Irish.

Meanwhile, the second title in the game franchise was released to critical acclaim in May 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. The gameplay is set amid the decay of the American Frontier in the year 1911, IGN has learned.

It depicts the story of a former bandit, John Marston, who will do whatever it takes to spare his wife and son along with the help of his former gang. Marston's wife and son were taken as a hostage by the government in ransom for his services as a hired gun.
