Valve is said to unveil the third installment of the “Left 4 Dead” series in 2017.

It has been 7 years since the release of the first person shooter game "Left 4 Dead 2," which is why fans are eager to find out whether Valve is going to release a third installment of the zombie-themed franchise, knowing that its predecessors were reported to be massive hits. With the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) this June, fans could not help but to speculate that "Left 4 Dead 3" may be announced in the said event.

According to Express, although the game's developer has not confirmed anything yet relating to the development of "Left 4 Dead 3," fans are reported to be insisting that the video game company might finally unveil the sequel during the E3 event.

Another thing that gives fans hope are the rumors that "Left 4 Dead 3" will have four new characters. The characters are said to be Irvin, Keenan and Garret Jr., and a female character namely Katherine.

On the other hand, the rumors are said to provide excitement to the avid supporters of the "Left 4 Dead" franchise. However, Valve still remains quite and has not confirmed anything about the status of the game yet. The game's co-developer, Turtle Rock Studios, also confirmed that it has no participation if whether Valve is indeed developing a third installment of the franchise.

According to Xbox Achievements, the co-founder of Turtle Rock Philip Robb said that the development of a third installment of the "Left 4 Dead" franchise is all up to Valve. He said that Turtle Rock Studios is quite done with the zombie first person shooter franchise, and that the video game company is aiming to go forward with their own projects. He added that he may participate but only as a fan and not as a developer.

With all the information coming out regarding the development of "Left 4 Dead 3," fans should not take the details seriously as no confirmation has been given by Valve. Perhaps, fans should just wait for the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo this coming June to confirm whether Valve is indeed releasing a sneak peek of "Left 4 Dead 3."
