Fallout 4 is an open world action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks.

The largest DLC for the popular action RPG "Fallout 4" and the first major plot expansion is slated for a release on May 19.

"Fallout 4: Far Harbor" DLC is not only the biggest for "Fallout 4" so far, but also the largest created by Bethesda. For gamers to begin the journey to the island of Far Harbor (inspired by real-world locations of Bar Harbor), they have to accept a new case from the Valentine's Detective Agency to look for a missing woman and a secret colony of synths.

The next step is for players to head to the island off Maine's coast. It is believed that Far Harbor has feral world because of elevated levels of radiation in the area.

In Far Harbor, the conflict is between the synths, the cult Children of Atom, and the townspeople. Either the player has a responsibility to settle the conflict and restore peace on the island, or throw heighten the feud even further. The gamer can access new faction quests involving the issues on the island via the DLC.

Besides the opposing parties in Far Harbor, the DLC brings more threats in terms of new creatures. Huge lantern fish and enormous crustaceans are among the monsters found in the expansion.

The trailer for the DLC unveils some kind of fishing hooks, and at the same time provides a glimpse of a diving suit. Because of the diving suit, Far Harbor will contain underwater sections that players can explore. While the original game was said to feature such underwater segments, they had to be eliminated during its development. The DLC could bring back these appropriate locations.

According to Digital Trends, completion of the quests in the DLC will reward gamers with high-level weapons and armor. Therefore, participating in the conflict of Far Harbor will be more interesting.

The upcoming DLC is set for a launch on May 19, with players that purchase the $50 season pass not requiring paying anything. However, players without season pass, with what is known concerning the DLC so far, it seems like the $25 cost of buying the expansion as a standalone is worth it.

Gamers who are lucky, the wait will not be that long. The game developer is sending out invites this week to select gamers to take part in the closed beta of the DLC, which will contain the full version of Far Harbor, according to Gotta Be Mobile.
