Justin Bieber’s latest inking ‘represents his journey in finding purpose with God’: Tattoo artist Jonathan ‘Jonboy’ Valena

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber is known for his hits "Baby," "Sorry" and "What Do You Mean?"

Justin Bieber's tattoo artist has given the meaning behind the "Sorry" singer's latest inking. The 22-year-old singer was spotted visiting a New York tattoo parlor on Friday and getting a small cross inked just below the corner of his eye.  

Bieber, who is currently in the middle of his "Purpose World Tour," reportedly has 52 tattoos now. Speaking with US Weekly, tattoo artist Jonathan "Jonboy" Valena said, "It represents his journey in finding purpose with God." 

The Canadian pop star's close ally Joe Termini got a similar cross during the visit to West 4th Tattoo Parlor. The singer arrived with his friend and security guards closed the place for their own personal use, ensuring that no one else entered the parlor.

The two stayed in the shop for about two hours as Bieber got his work done and he made sure to take a selfies with Jonboy before leaving the parlor. After the tattoo session, the group went out for a night on the town at Up & Down. While out, Bieber surprised fans with an unarranged performance of his recent hits "Sorry" and "What Do You Mean?"

In an interview with GQ magazine earlier this year, Bieber said that he would consider getting a tattoo on his face but not for now. He said that he would do so maybe when he is old but not super old - between 40 and 50 - adding "one above my eyebrow or something small."

The singer added that he believes that if they are done right, they could be great, although he did not want something super crazy all over his face. A day late, the "Baby" singer was also spotted celebrating Cinco de Mayo as he attended a party at reputable Mexican restaurant, La Esquina in SoHo.

At the restaurant, Bieber grabbed tacos and tequila, which was covered in Mexican flags to celebrate the holiday. The 22-year-old hangout with fans as he left, stopping briefly to talk for 10 minutes before strolling off to explore the Big Apple.

Evidently, all the celebrations took a toll on Bieber as he posted a tired selfies in bed with the caption: "Resting up for the show in Philly it's gonna be a good one mark my words."
