Dragon Ball Super is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation and the sequel to the Dragon Ball manga and TV series.

New details for "Dragon Ball Super will feature the official return of Future Trunks in the series and the rumored villian could be an evil version of Son Goku.

"Dragon Ball" creator Akira Toriyama confirmed that the next story arc for "Dragon Ball Super" will feature the return of fan favorite character Future Trunks. Toriyama stated that the new arc takes place after the "Champa Saga" during the aftermath of the Universe 6 and 7 story arc as Son Goku, Vegeta and the rest of the gang will see Future Trunks possibly warning them of a future threat.

The new arc will be put together by Toriyama based on the suggestion from the editorial office. Toriyama will provide the outline of the entire plot, while the script writers will do their very best to break it down into several episodes, Otaku Kart reported.

Future Trunks was previously rumored to show up in "Dragon Ball Super" due to Toriyama teasing anime fans of a "future related" character making his return for a long time. Future Trunks and Arale will be featured in future episodes of "Dragon Ball Super" starting with Arale in episode 43.

Future Trunks first appeared during the "Android Saga" in "Dragon Ball Z" were he travels back in the past to stop the Androids 17 and 18 from being born. Future Trunks meets his biological father Vegeta as he was killed by both Androids in his timeline and was instrumental in fighting Cell during the "Cell Games" story arc.

In other news, Toriyama teased new villain in the story arc for "Dragon Ball Super" as the new enemy is called "Black Goku", AnimeNewsNetwork reported.

It is speculated that "Black Goku" could be an evil alternate version of Son Goku since the "Dragon Ball" has twelve universes each with their own alternate versions of the same character. Black Goku will start a battle that surpasses time and space, so it will not be a simple fight for Son Goku and the rest of Z fighters. In addition, both God of Destructions Beerus and Champa and the Supreme Kai will be joining the new arc.

As of now "Dragon Ball Super" will have episodes 43, 44 ,45 and 46 in their list and the show will return next week on Fuji TV.
