If reports are anything to go by, the upcoming Surface Pro 5 will now be released in 2017 instead of in 2016. Also, Surface Book has received huge discounts.

Rumors are doing the rounds that the software company Microsoft will delay the launch of the Surface Pro 5. According to reports, the tech company wants its forthcoming flagships to feature the Kaby Lake processor from Intel.

Reports also suggest that the chipmaker Intel will not be able to mass-produce the next-gen processor in the limited timeframe. It is said that the use of Kaby Lake processor will double the efficiency of the upcoming Microsoft device.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to sport a 4K Ultra HD screen with a resolution of 3840 pixels in width. There are speculations that the upcoming tablet will have an improved stylus.

Moreover, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is rumored to have a fingerprint scanner and the newest USB type-C port.

According to a CNET report, the tablet will have a starting price of $899. The Intel Core i7 model will cost about $999 and the i7 Extreme version will cost about $1,599.

Meanwhile, the Microsoft Store is at present offering Surface Books (128 GB, 8GB of RAM, Intel Core i5 processor) for $1349. The initial price of the Surface Book is $1499.

The Microsoft Store is also selling the Surface Book (256GB, i5 processor, 8GB of RAM) for $1549. The original price of the device is $1699. It is important to note that the offer is valid till May 14 and is for models that run on Intel Core i5 processor.

It is expected that the Microsoft Surface Book 2 will come with a 13.5-inch display supporting 4K resolution. Also, rumors are doing the rounds that the upcoming device will be equipped with Intel's 7th generation of Kaby Lake processor.

According to several reports, the new Surface Book 2 will come together with the Windows 10 Redstone 2 update. Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is also expected to come with Redstone 2 preinstalled. The Redstone 2 update will be available by spring next year.
