Apple will launch a new version of iTunes with a new sidebar to help users navigate the music player and syncing software quicker and easier.

The tech company plans to roll-out the new update on the upcoming iTunes 12.4, MacRumors reported. The latest addition of the new sidebar on the left will allow users to get access to a list of items including genres, songs, artists and albums. The new navigation can be edited according to one’s preference and songs can dragged and dropped to different playlists.

The media picker on iTunes 12.4 was also enhanced by the addition of a drop-down menu to select different types of content such as TV shows, movies, and music. Compared to the current version, which has a single toolbar to switch from one category to another, the new update allows user to create a customized menu by adding and removing categories and navigate through it by clicking the back and forward buttons.

While the current menu of iTunes looks messed up with several options, the company has tweaked this portion by redesigning it with fewer options and better customization. As for the “Up Next” song option located on the mini player, this button will be moved to the right so it is easier to be found.

According to CNET, Apple’s decision to upgrade iTunes by allowing users have an easier hands-on experience could help the company keep their strong base of followers while also attract more customers.

No word yet on whether Apple will also apply new changes to its mobile devices, but there have been rumors that the company is eyeing to make significant alterations to Apple Music in the iOS Music app in iOS 10.

Apple has yet to announce the official release date of iTunes 12.4, but sources say it has been set to launch in late May or early June.
