Google demonstrates their new Gboard app for the iPhone and iOS devices

Google has recently launched an app for the iPhone and iOS devices called Gboard which has been receiving a lot of praise so far as it makes texting and searching easier than before.

The new app for iPhones and iPads allows iOS users to directly search for anything without leaving their keyboard. Search results and even GIFs can then be embedded inside a message that can be sent to any contact of the user.

Users would just have to tap the Google button in order to expand the keyboard. The search field will then be shown along with any recent search queries.

Besides text web results, users can also use the Gboard app to search for other things. iOS users can switch to searching for GIF and image results as well, Fortune reported.

Another useful feature of the keyboard application is that users can also just search for a relevant emoji. They would not have to scroll through endless emojis to find what they want.

Users can just enter "in love" to find the emoji with the hearts as eyes. Similarly, they can try searching for a term such as "Halloween" to find a suitable emoji for the occasion.

The Gboard app is also useful for searching for news articles and business listings. If a user wants to find the latest news about the next iPhone, they can just search for it and even share the article with their friends.

Restaurants can also be searched through the keyboard app, TechCrunch has learned. The feature is useful for those who are planning to eat out at night or those who simply want to try a new Mexican restaurant.

Weather forecasts and flight times are also included in the search results. Gboard can let users find out how hot or cold it is outside and if there is a high chance for rain.

Users can also just use the "Paste" button instead of forwarding the link. What it does is that it presents the search result in a more organized way through an image that is not hyperlinked.

Google said that Gboard will also be coming to the Android platform. Apple iPhone and iOS users can already download the app on the iTunes App Store.
