Premier League 2015-2016: Chelsea vs Leicester City, Preview, Prediction & Predicted Lineup

Dethroned defending champions Chelsea FC (12-12-13, 49 points) will try to end their disappointing campaign on a high note as they square off with their successors, Leicester City FC (23-3-11, 80 points) at the Stamford Bridge this Sunday, May 15th in the final matchday of the 2015-2016 Premier League season.

Chelsea is safe from relegation at the ninth spot of the current league table, but they are also failed to qualify to any of the club continental competitions for next season.

The Blues settled for a 1-1 draw with eight-placed squad Liverpool FC at the Anfield on Wednesday, as per SkySports.

Last season's Premier League Player of the Season, FWA Footballer of the Year, and PFA Players' Player of the Year Eden Hazard scored the opening goal of the contest at the 32nd minute.

It looked like a won game for Chelsea as the full time whistle blew, but the Reds' Belgian forward Christian Benteke was able to find the back of Asmir Begovic's net during stoppage time to save Liverpool a point in the overall tally.

The draw was the third straight winless match and fifth in the last six outings of interim manager Guus Hiddink's team.

Meanwhile, Leicester City pulled off a convincing 3-1 rout of middling club Everton at the King Power Stadium last Saturday as they received the 2015-2016 Premier League trophy, via BBC Sport.

The season's second-best goalscorer, striker Jamie Vardy, netted a brace at the fifth and 65th minutes to lead champion coach Claudio Ranieri's side to their 11th consecutive unbeaten performance en route to capturing their first ever EPL title.

Midfielder Andy King's goal at the 33rd completed the Foxes' three-goal haul in the contest while Everton forward Kevin Mirallas was able to score a consolation goal two minutes before full time to avoid a shutout.

Despite this clash with Chelsea being a no-bearing game for Leicester, the Foxes will be looking to make a statement that they are indeed deserving champions this term over last season's winners.

The predicted result is a 2-0 victory for Leicester City.

Chelsea starting lineup (4-2-3-1 formation): Begovic; Azpilicueta, Cahill, Mikel, Rahman; Fabregas, Matic; Willian, Hazard, Pedro; Traore

Leicester City starting lineup (4-4-2 formation): Schmeichel; Simpson, Wasilewski, Morgan, Fuchs; Mahrez, Kanté, King, Albrighton; Okazaki, Vardy
