'The Winds of Winter' is the sixth novel in George R. R. Martin's epic fantasy series 'A Song of Ice and Fire.

"Winds of Winter" release date is delayed again as author George R. R. Martin has not finished writing it. He released a new chapter on Arianne Martell from the upcoming book.

Martin posted an excerpt of the upcoming book on his website George R R Martin and revealed that the book will be delayed. He also added that he is working hard on the book and hopes to release it soon.

The "Winds of Winter" excerpt focuses on Arianne Martell, who is the eldest daughter of Mellario and Prince Doran Martell. She is also the heir to Doran as per the rules of the Dornish law.

Martell is traveling on a ship named Peregrine to the Weeping Town with her confidants. The small town has three inns for the travellers and Martell sends her men to each one of them in order to learn the latest rumors.

Martell's confidantes, Daemon Sand, Joss Hood and Feathers, learned that Red Ronnet's sister was raped. They also come to know that the town dispatched a number of its young men to Griffin's Roost in order to aid Jon Connington. Martell sends all these snippets of information to her father via ravens.

Other "Winds of Winter" spoilers indicate that Bran Stark and his sister Arya Stark will soon be killed. They will not get any kind of super-powers and will die a sad and lonely death.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, there were a lot of rumors that the book was finished and it is currently with the publishing house. Fans hoped that the book would have an early launch before the "Game of Thrones" Season 6 finale.

In an interview with IGN, Martin revealed that the upcoming book is going to be about a character was mercilessly killed in the TV show. This character is rumored to be Stannis Baratheon, who was killed in "Game of Thrones" Season 5. Along with Baratheon, Tyrion Lannister will also have a prominent role in the book.
