The much-anticipated MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to launch soon with the OLED display.

Speculations are rife that Apple MacBook Pro 2016 may have a "zero-travel" force-sensitive keyboard. It will not have any physical keys and will resemble a flat slate.

Apple filed a patent, which suggests that the new technology may be used in the upcoming laptop, according to United States Patent and Trademark Office. The potential keyboard was described as "force-sensitive input structure for an electronic device."

The keyboard resembles a clean slate and it will sense the pressure of the user's fingers and interpret it as the appropriate gesture. The user will get the feeling as if they are really hitting some physical keys even though they are actually not doing so.

To guide the users as to the locations of the input entities in the keyboard there would be some micro-perforations. Light will be emitted from these holes and the users will get to know where to hit the keyboard.

Moreover, users also have the added advantage of organizing the keyboard as per their preferences. They can slot space for the trackpad, special sets of keys and numeric keypad as per their wishes.

Users have the option of using it as a huge trackpad for browsing purposes and then switching it on to a cutomized keyboard when they need to type. This level of customization will specially appeal to the left-handed users.

In addition, due to the lack of the physical keys there is no room of dust and debris to clog the keys and the trackpad. This technology is called "zero-travel" and it will change the way users look and perceive keyboards of the future.

Apple MacBook Pro 2016 specs may also include a touchscreen, two USB Type-C ports, stereo ports, Skylake processor and a built-in microphone, according to Digital Trends. Apple is expected to launch two variants of the device, a 13-inch model and a 15-inch model.

Meanwhile, there are rumors that Apple will release only MacBook Pro 2016 at the WorldWide Conference, which is taking place in California from June 13-17. The release of Apple MacBook Air 2016 may be canceled.
