Google Nexus 2016 is a rumored upcoming flagship phone from Google.

Latest rumors have surrounded the possible release date of Google Nexus 7 2016 tablet and its specs. Speculations have it that the tablet may be launched during the upcoming Google I/O Developer's Conference 2016. Furthermore, the tablet is believed to run on Android N.

Many Nexus 7 users have been speculating that the search engine giant has been working on a new flagship of the Nexus tablet. Most of them believe that the company's 2016-device launch will sport a 2016 version of the Nexus 7.

The year is almost halfway and recent rumors suggest that Google will launch its Google Nexus 7 during the upcoming annual developer's conference. According to Google I/O Developer's Conference 2016 official website, the event will take place at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA on May 18 to 20. The event will function as a fair of sorts for the company to display its new products.

Reportedly, Google might release the upgraded Nexus 7 2016 and at the same time use the tablet to display the company's latest Android Operating System. The OS is codenamed Android N.

Reports suggest that the latest OS from Google might sport support for pressure-sensitive displays such as Force Touch and Apple's 3D Touch for the iOS. Further rumors about Android N indicate that Google unveiled the second Android N Developer Preview in April to Android Beta Program users.

The preview release implies that Google is creating developer support for the latest OS features. Latest speculated features for Android N include Unicode 9 support, launcher shortcuts, and a new Vulcan API.

When the tablet hits the market, Nexus 7 2016 will come after three years of break for the tablet line-up. The tablet developer worked with ASUS and launched its first Nexus 7 model in 2012, releasing another in 2013 before going underground for the next two years.

The absence of Nexus 7 spurred rumors that Google had discontinued the line. However, ASUS chair Jonney Shih stated in an interview with Trusted Review in 2015 that another Nexus 7 was likely.

For now, it is speculated that Google dropped ASUS in favor of either HTC or Huawei in developing the Nexus 7 2016. Since there is no official confirmation from Google, fans should take this information with a pinch of salt. Watch the clip below for more information on Google Nexus 7 2016.
