“Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki is returning the favor made by his “Running Man” co-cast member Lee Kwang Soo who had a cameo appearance in Episode 1 of the 16-episode Korean Hallyu.
On Tuesday, the 30-year-old actor’s management agency, Blossom Entertainment, said that Soong Joong-ki will take a break from his eight-city China leg of Asian tour and tape for a new web drama "The Sound of Your Heart." The star of that Hallyu is Lee Kwang Soo, and Song Joong-ki will have a cameo role only.
The shooting of his scene in “The Sound of Your Heart” is on May 17, Tuesday, at KBS 2TV which aired “Descendants of the Sun.” The mutual cameo appearances is proof of the deep friendship developed between the two actors while they were doing “Running Man” for seven years.
It is based on a popular webtoon with the same title. Lee Kwang Soo’s leading lady in “The Sound of Your Heart” is Jung So Min, reported Soompi.
Song Joong-ki disclosed during his fan meet in Beijing on Saturday that he has Baidu and Weibo accounts, but he is not a techie. It is his friend Lee Kwang Soo who updates the social media accounts.
Since both actors are extremely busy with their careers, if both men find the time, they go on a trip together to sustain the close friendship. Song Joong-ki said that his close buddy is a necessity in his trips because “I need Lee Kwang Soo to tag along. Someone has to spend money for me.”
But in response to Q&A portion in the fan meet, when asked whom he likes more, Lee Kwang Soo or girl groups, it was the girl groups which won. But nevertheless, his friend is Song Joong-ki’s standard when asked if he would still like a girl with short hair even if she is ugly. His reply was: “As long as she’s prettier than Lee Kwang Soo, it’s fine.”
