'Red Dead Redemption 2' will be launched by Fall of 2017.

Arguably one of the most anticipated game sequels, "Red Dead Redemption 2" is still up in the air as Take-Two Entertainment and Rockstar are not in the same page as of the moment. It would be interesting to see if this is just a ploy to misdirect fans as the game is rumored to debut on E3 2016.

Take-Two initially announced that "Red Dead Redemption" is one of their prized franchises and it will be similar to "Grand Theft Auto" in terms of having future installments, Express UK reported. However, Rockstar has yet to comment on a potential sequel for the game although rumors are starting to surface that the game will be presented to gamers in E3 2016 happening in June 2016.

In April, the map of the sequel was reportedly leaked online and upon checking, there was a portion that looked similar to a city called New Bordeaux in "Mafia 3," which is set for release on Oct. 7. However, the reported map was confirmed to be legit in a report by Tech Radar. It was said to be deliberately made, which could mean that the game location will be in New Orleans, Louisiana. Moreover, a re-mastered "RDR 2" is said to be on the works which was not denied by Strauss Zelnick in 2015.

That same interview led to Zelnick hinting that earlier installments of the "GTA" franchise may get a re-mastered edition in the future. There is no denying that this is an ongoing trend for many old-school games such as "God of War," "Final Fantasy" and "Uncharted" franchises among others.

"In any given year we and our key competitors launch new intellectual properties and new iterations of older properties," the publication quoted Zelnick saying. "And occasionally, when we see a platform shift, we will take an old property and create an iteration of that in a very similar form for next-gen and we wouldn't rule anything out.

Also, the said sequel will not be a continuation but a prequel instead. This means the story may revolve on John Marston or Red Harlow. Here are some more fan ideas regarding "RDR 2."
