'Legends Of Tomorrow' spoilers: Season finale features the team fighting Vandal Savage in different time periods [VIDEO]; More characters, Thanagarian invasion in season 2?

"Legends of Tomorrow" is a spin-off series developed by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, Marc Guggenheim and Phil Klemmer.

New details for "Legends of Tomorrow" will feature the team facing Vandal Savage in its season finale and new characters and a Thanagarian invasion for season 2.

A new extended trailer for the season finale of "Legends of Tomorrow" will feature Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) and his team of heroes facing their final battle against the immortal Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) as they stop him from conquering the world by using the same meteorite that gave him his immortality, as well as rescuing Kendra Saunders/ Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee) and Carter Hall/Hawkman (Falk Hentschel).

Episode 16 will also see Sara Lance/White Canary (Caity Lotz) visiting the grave of her older sister, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) who has died in battle during her fight with Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) in "Arrow" season 4. Mick Rory/Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell) visiting Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) in a bar from a different timeline.

Each of the heroes must kill Vandal Savage from three different time eras in order to render him powerless and unable to use the meteorite to gain more power and conquer the entire world, ComicBookResources reported.

In other new, executive producer Marc Guggenheim teased that season 2 of "Legends of Tomorrow" will feature more DC characters for the show as he told ComicBook that the show itself is a gateway to the DC Universe,any time or any place and introducing some new faces within the show.

Two character descriptions were already announced to join "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 as fans speculated that they could be Nathan Heywood/Citizen Steel and Zinda Blake/Lady Blackhawk.

Other characters such as Jonah Hex (Johnathon Schaech), Conner Hawke (Joseph David-Jones) and John Constantine (Matt Ryan) are also being speculated to return to season 2 as the showrunners stated that they could likely join Rip's team of heroes.

Guggenheim added that Thanagarians might have some connection in the season finale, but not in the way the audiences and fans would think, and stated that it will not be some invasion but it acknowledges the whole idea of what Hawkman and Hawkgirl possible role they have in the show.

"Legends of Tomorrow" will return on Thursday 8PM on the CW Network.
