After the last week's explosive episode, featuring fire-proof Daenerys and tearful Stark reunion, "Game of Thrones" Season 6 episode 5 once again managed to fascinate its fans with exhilarating levels of political scheming, emotional flashbacks and a heartbreaking farewell. In the episode, titled "The Door," Hodor ended up being the center of attention on May 22, Sunday.

In the opening scene, Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) is seen excoriating Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) who had not seen her since selling her off as a goth bride to Ramsay Bolton (Iwa Rheon). She revealed that she was raped and beaten up on her wedding night after which Littlefinger  reiterated his promise to protect her.

Before leaving, Littlefinger persuaded Sansa to seek the help of her great uncle Brynden "The Blackfish" Tully. However, she dismissed him by saying that she does not believe him anymore.

Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) continues to receive her training under Waif when Jaqen H'gar (Tom Wlaschiha) gave her a mission to redeem herself. She is given a task to kill an actress who is playing Cersei Lannister in a crude play based on her Ned Stark's execution. Arya is seen disturbed while watching the reenactment of her father's beheading and later seems to be hesitant to complete the given task.

Elsewhere, Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) found himself near a big Weirwood Tree in one of his visions amidst Children of Forest. It is revealed that Leaf (Octavia Alexandru) had created  first WhiteWalker to defend the Children of the Forest from humans.

On Iron Islands, Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan) claims the Salt Throne with full support by Theon (Alfie Allen) when their uncle Euron (Pilou Asbaek) turned up to snatch the position. He admitted killing Balon before declaring that he will give his fleet to Daenerys to conquer the seven kingdoms. Theon and Yara escape along with the family's best ships.

In Vaes Dothrak, Ser Jorah(Iain Glen) confessed his enduring affection for Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) after revealing a ravaging case of Greyscale.  Daenerys ordered him to go forth and find a cure for the Greyscale, heal himself and return to her.

In Meereen, Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and Varys (Conleth Hill) come across Kinvara (Ania Bukstein), the High Priestess of the Red Temple of Volantis. She proposed that she will summon her most eloquent priests to spread the word that Daenerys has been sent to lead the people against darkness.

At Castle Black, Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) declared they needed additional men to to conquer Winterfell when Sansa revealed that Tullys may back them against Boltons. The entourage leaves for their mission, while Edd Tollett (Ben Crmpton) was left to oversee the Castle Black.

Back to Bran's visions, he comes face to face with the Night King (Vladimir Furdik), the White Walker leader, who made a body contact with him. At the same time, Meera (Ellie Kendrick) came back rushing in the cave as she saw  White Walkers about to attack them. She shakes Bran awake and carried him to safety.

While Meera and Bran managed to exit from the other side of the cave through a door, Hodor (Kristian Nairn) leaned his back against it so that wights could not pass through. Meera kept on shouting "Hold the door" until he can be heard repeating the same and then uttering only one word, Hodor. He later died protecting Bran and Meera.
