Actors Evangeline Lilly (L) and Paul Rudd attend Marvel's Hall H Panel for 'Ant-Man' during Comic-Con International 2014 at San Diego Convention Center.

"Captain America: Civil War" actor Paul Rudd returned to the Red Nose Day event, the annual British charitable event that debuted in the United States in 2015. This time, he performed a sketch with Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin.

Rudd declared that he would write a $5,000 check for every three-point shot Griffin could sink in three minutes. In the given timespan, the LA Clippers power forward managed to net $100,000.

In 2015, the Red Nose Day event raised more than $23 million to help poor children not only in the U.S. but also in 15 other countries. This year, the target is $35 million.

"This time I want to explain to people what difference their money makes so that by the end of the night, they can think, 'Wow, we bought five-million meals, 100,000 vaccinations, got this number of kids an education,'"  filmmaker Richard Curtis, who is also a co-creator of the Red Nose Day event, told Zap2it. He added that he wanted to add "a bit of excitement to the fund-raising story."

Rudd also has nothing but good words about Curtis, who directed "Love Actually" and wrote "Notting Hill." The former told the publication that the latter is a brilliant writer and a great director who has made many great movies.

The two-hour Red Nose Day special aired live from Los Angeles on NBC on May 26, Thursday. Aside Rudd and Griffin, the other artists featured were Liam Neeson, Adam Devine, Tracy Morgan, Jack Black, Julianne Moore, Emma Thompson, Anna Kendrick, Kristen Bell, Lena Dunham, Ellie Kemper and Sarah Silverman, among others.

On the big screen, Rudd recently reprised his role as Ant-Man in "Captain America: Civil War." He originally played the role in the 2015 film "Ant-Man" with Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym and Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne.

In 2018, Paud will reprise the role of Ant-Man in "Ant-Man and the Wasp," which will be helmed by "Ant-Man" director Peyton Reed. The actor will be joined again by Douglas and Lilly, who signed with UTA in February, Deadline reported.
