As Marvel films traditionally feature an Easter egg in closing credits, "Ant-Man" director Peyton Reed recently has dished on the two final scenes of the film that star Paul Rudd as the title role.
In the first final scene, Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) showed the prototype of a new Wasp suit to his daughter Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly). The second one featured the Falcon (Anthony Mackie), and an injured Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) and implied that there is a rift between Captain America (Chris Evans) and Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.).
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Reed revealed that he only directed the first one, which he said is the completion of Hope van Dyne's arc in "Ant-Man." He pointed out that it is important to the movie and to him to have Hope van Dyne's arc be as important as Scott Lang's arc.
About the second final scene, Reed said they always planned to have a second tag at the end of the credits roll and he was badgering Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige telling him that he wanted to see some of the dailies with Rudd as Ant-Man.
"I was actually jealous that Ant-Man was even going to appear in another movie so I was dying to see it and I did see that footage and it's incredible," Reed said laughing. He added that there was a moment that seemed to complete the arc in the movie when the dailies came in for the scene, which is the second tag.
Meanwhile, "Ant-Man" actor David Dastmalchian recently described Rudd in an interview with TooFab as "the godfather of the karaoke machine who loves the '80s hits" as he can ramble Duran Duran and The Bangles.
