"The Flash" season 3 will introduce a slew of new characters, and some old ones are rumored to be axed.
Luckily, cast member Tom Cavanagh is not one of those cast members whose character will be removed from the hit The CW series.
In fact, according to Entertainment Weekly, Cavanagh just became a series regular for "The Flash" season 3.
Previously, Cavanagh gave life to the character Harrison Wells from Earth-2.
"Details on next season are being kept tightly under wraps, but I can tell you that Tom Cavanagh will be back as a series regular for season 3. Consider this: If the show does indeed move forward with Flashpoint, then the Reverse-Flash never killed Earth-1 Harrison Wells and his wife, meaning we could see the original Wells next season. Maybe. Hopefully," the publication reported.
Meanwhile, "The Flash" season 3 will also continue to feature John Wesley Shipp as the Man in the Iron Mask or as Earth-Three's Jay Garrick.
In an interview with TV Line, the actor said that he's looking forward to playing the role of Jay in the upcoming episodes of "The Flash" season 3.
However, he's also hoping to give life to Henry Allen from Earth-2.
"He's been mentioned but never seen, right. Listen, Greg and Andrew flew up from L.A. during the filming of the last episode, and we had a good, long conversation... I always knew Henry Allen was closed-ended. He was there for a specific purpose, to get Barry to the point where he could fully own his powers. Henry always had a limited shelf life. But morphing into this new character, the opportunities are limitless, because, as you mentioned, there are limitless worlds, there are so many different things that can happen... In fact, Greg told me that one reason they were so excited about having a morph into Jay Garrick is that there are so many more ways that they could use me. I can't wait to see what they are," he said.
"The Flash" season 3 also stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, Candice Patton as Iris West, Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West and more.
"The Flash" season 3 will premiere on The CW sometime this year.
