Anyone in the gaming industry can now snatch up the new .game domain to better incorporate their websites with their video gaming brand.

The usual .com domain name is common and often overused by almost anything in any industry. Now, Uniregistry has released the .game domain which will be available for everyone who wants to avail of the extension tailored for the video gaming community and industry.

Blizzard is one of the largest video game companies to grab a couple of the .game domains for their own brands such as Diablo, Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone, Stacraft and Warcraft. The company has also grabbed Overwatch.game which is just in time for the popular multiplayer shooter's worldwide launch, PC Magazine has learned.

Uniregistry has opened the new domain for the public on May 24. They are now gaining more ground compared to Amazon and Google because of their new domain extension which is geared towards the billion-dollar video gaming industry.

Other huge video game entities that snatched up the .game domains include Nintendo, PlayStation, Grand Theft Auto ad even Call of Duty. However, the new extensions are not only for the large companies.

Uniregistry founder and managing director Frank Schilling said in a press release: "We're excited to bring .game to the internet, and we are especially pleased to see the early adoption of the name by the world's leading gaming companies. The broad-based support of .game by the companies that make the world's most exciting and immersive form of entertainment is deeply gratifying."

Voice actress Georgia van Cuylenberg has acquired voiceover.game that redirects to her IMDB page which includes all the credits she received in her voice work for video games, Polygon has learned.  She has voiced several characters from Star Wars: The Old Republic and Final Fantasy XIII.

Fans can still get a hold of several popular domains such as Uncharted, God of War and Gran Turismo with the new extension for about $319 per year. The price itself is also tailored for those who are willing to invest in the new domain extensions.

Other companies and brands in the video game industry can still grab .game domain extensions in the following weeks. It would certainly spark a new revolution for video game brands and their websites.
