Is the market ready for Dell's 43-inch 4K monitor that divides into four separate 1080p panels?

Dell unveils its newest 43-inch 4K monitor that is capable of splitting into four different panels at 1080p resolution each.

According to ExtremeTech, a computer that is set up to accommodate at least two monitors has increasingly become popular among different type of computer users from professionals, enthusiasts up but not limited to gamers. For each of this user kind, this kind of set up renders a more immersive, much richer widescreen experience, however, it can be tricky to accomplish.

For one, the user reportedly should use three identical display setting on each monitor to get that effect at minimal to zero resolution issues. Second, identical settings across monitors are essential to avoid color gamut and calibration differences between or among the monitors.

Moving on, the tech news site reports that Dell's newest monitor product might just hold the answer to the seemingly complex task of setting up multi-monitor systems. This 43-inch monitor not only boasts of its main purpose as a single 3840×2160 monitor, it can also be divided into four individual 1080p panels. The result is having 4 edgeless or bezel-less separate displays.

On the other hand, the tech news site, notes that the product information does not specify if the Dell 43 Multi-Client Monitor supports multiple set-ups in resolutions other than the standard ones. For example 1920×2160 or 3840×1080 that results in two horizontal or vertical panels, rather than the signal bezel-less quadrant it features.

In the meantime, as per Dell's product description on its website, the Dell 43 Multi-Client Monitor is designed " in conjunction with financial services customers." It is especially indicated that the new monitor will traders excellent viewing experience that can be set to appear as four separate full HD screens minus the bezels. Its other features include a matte finish that helps reduce glare and eye strain, energy efficiencies. With one monitor functioning as 4 separate panels, energy consumption is reduced by up to 30 percent. Additionally, it comes with 8W speakers.

More so, some games who prefer a three-monitor display set up might also wonder if this is possible with Dell's new product. It is only a matter of that before someone experiments with that.
