To protest a court’s decision in China, a woman took off all her clothes and sat naked in front of the courthouse.
Mirror reported that the woman found the judge’s decision unfair. However, there was sparse information about the case and the location of the courthouse in China.
But a video of the woman stripping her clothes was posted on Chinese social media sites which had become viral. The woman had a large tattoo on her back. To cover her from public eye, some people gathered around the Chinese woman and tried to cover her with clothes.
However, the woman was adamant and brushed aside the clothes placed on her lap. She also refused to stand up and leave the front of the courthouse.
Among the social media sites where the video was posted are Weibo, Liveleak and YouTube.
The comments about the woman’s naked protest include: “She think she’s making some kind of profound, stoic stand against the system. When in reality, she’s just making herself an object of sexual gratification for every male onlooker.”
Naked protests go a long way. One of the most famous was Lady Godiva, an 11th century noblewoman married to Leofric, the Earl of Mercia and Lord of Coventry. To protest the crippling taxes that her husband imposed on Coventry, she rode naked on a horseback in response to his reply that he would lower the taxes if she rides without clothes on a horse that parade through the town center.
