As the protector and savior of Central City, "The Flash" is presented the key to the doors of the city during a ceremony for his honor.

It was just more than a week ago when the DC comics-based TV series, "The Flash," finished its second season. Since the second season ended with a time travel, many are speculating that 'The Flash' Season 3 may dwell into the Flashpoint plot.

It can be remembered that the season finale of the previous season featured Zoom, played by Teddy Sears, and Barry, played by Grant Gustin, battling it out to know who is the fastest between them. At the end, Zoom was defeated, and Barry has traveled back in time to save her mother from the assassination of the Reverse Flash.

With that said, rumors are pointing to details that a major change is going to happen in "The Flash" Season 3, given that Barry has successfully saved her mother's life, thus creating a new timeline that may erase all that happened in Season 1 and Season 2, which is why fans are speculating that the Flashpoint storyline is going to be explored, Entertainment Weekly reported.

The same publication noted that the Flashpoint story arc in "The Flash" Season 3 is going to show Barry Allen without the superb speed that he had back in the previous installments. This was said to be the result of Barry altering history, and also because the lead protagonist will venture on a new timeline where he has no powers yet. It was also said that Barry will find a way to get his super speed back by repeating the accident that made him "The Flash."

Meanwhile, according to Blastr, Carlos Valdes, who plays Cisco in the hit CW series, said on a press conference during the MegaCon event that there might be a possibility that the third season will follow the Flashpoint story arc. The actor added that "The Flash" Season 3 is going to be different while still on the same original story. He also asked the supporters of the series to have faith on "The Flash," as they are going to do what they were doing during the previous two installments.

"The Flash" Season 3 is going to premiere later this year.
