To inspire Chinese youth to go into football, preparations are underway for a 3D animation film in China. The theme of the upcoming anime movie is youth football.

Yoichi Takahasi, the author of "Captain Tsubasa," a Japanese anime, has been tapped to write the script for the movie. The film also aims to promote the sports spirit of hard work among young Chinese, said Zhao June, one of the investors.

China Daily reported that the leading actor for the movie is a talented young football player who learns football stunts from his competitors. As his opponents become tougher, the actor’s morale would be boosted further, causing him not to give up.

The press conference for the 3D animation film, slated for exhibition in 2018, was held in Qinhuangdao, a coastal city in northern China, on Saturday. The previous day, China won 4-2 over Trinidad and Tobago in a friendly football match in the city.

Takahashi and Gao Hongpo, head coach of the national team of China, attended the press conference.

The title of the 3D film would be "Captain of Football Team," reported Xinhua News Agency. Takahashi said the protagonist would go through a process of growth as he heads a team from an ordinary mountain village to the National League Championship.

Anime has spread from Japan to other Asian countries such as South Korea and China. Top dramas in South Korea, such as “Boys Over Flowers” and “City Hunter” came from the manga and anime “Hana Yori Dango” and “City Hunter,” respectively
