The cast and crew of tvN's new drama "Entourage" have gathered together on May 28 to hold the first script reading. The event was well-attended and all the main and supporting expressed excitement as they officially starts the drama's production.
The line-up of cast members alone is enough to make everyone assume that the newest drama will be a big hit. It does not only features some of the most talented Korean actors but they are currently the trend today as well. Lee Kwang Soo, Seo Kang Jun, Park Jung Min, Lee Dong Hwi and Cho Jin Woong will lead the cast of this Friday-Saturday light drama series.
According to Newsen, ZE:A's Im Siwan would have been one of the male cast too, but he declined the role to work on other projects like the movie "One Line." For the female characters, former Wonder Girl's Ahn Sohee and f(x)'s Amber have been confirmed.
The drama will serve as Amber's acting debut and she was reported to have been given the role as a secretary to the chief executive played by Cho. Seo will be the main male lead as a popular actor while Park, Kwang Soo and Dong Hwi will play as his close pals.
tvN's "Entourage" is the Korean adaptation of the American hit TV series of the same title. Unlike most Korean dramas, the said series will be filmed in advance before it is released for broadcast. The producers' target date for airing is sometime in the last quarter this year, Kpop Herald reported.
The original "Entourage" premiered on HBO in 2004. The show run for eight seasons before it finally ended in 2011. It starred Adrien Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara and more.
The comedy series tells the story of a young movie star and his childhood friends, as they make their way through the unfamiliar city of Los Angeles. The story was written by Doug Ellin and was inspired by the real experiences of Mark Wahlberg as he strive to become a Hollywood star.
