American Alpha is one of the best tag team in NXT and in the entire WWE at the moment. According to the latest rumors, the team composed of Chad Gable and Jason Jordan may be called up to the main roster following their loss to The Revival at "NXT TakeOver: The End."
Gable and Jordan have only been teaming for a year but they showed incredible chemistry to make it work at NXT. Both superstars are former amateur wrestlers and their dynamic partnership was awarded by a run at the NXT Tag Team championship.
They won the tag titles at "NXT TakeOver: Dallas" on April 1 during WrestleMania weekend by defeating The Revival. However, they lost it back to Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson on the recent NXT live event special.
It is not a sure thing but if popular champions lose their titles in NXT, they are very close to being called up to the main roster. American Alpha is certainly ready for the main roster and they could make the division deeper for the upcoming brand extension.
In the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that American Alpha won't be called up until July but the decision to take the NXT tag titles off of them was a last minute decision. The next challenger for The Revival is the team of Johnny Gargano and Tomaso Ciampa, and top WWE officials probably did not want a face vs. face feud.
American Alpha was attacked by The Authors of Pain with their manager, WWE Hall of Famer Paul Ellering. According to Wrestling Inc, Gargano and Ciampa wants a title shot while The Authors of Pain targeted Gable and Jordan once again in the latest set of NXT television tapings.
The introduction of a new tag team is another indication that American Alpha will be called up to the main roster. If a team leaves NXT, a new team should be ready to take their place to replenish the roster the developmental.
As for fans who cannot wait for American Alpha, current WWE tag team champion Big E. took to Twitter to troll people by saying welcome to the former NXT tag team titles. A showdown between The New Day and American Alpha will surely be entertaining.
